Trent Alexander-Arnold believes Liverpool FC summer signing Alisson Becker has already proven that he is a world class goalkeeper.

The Reds finally addressed what has been a problem position since Brendan Rodgers made the decision to sell Spain international and World Cup winner Pepe Reina in 2013.

Rodgers signed Simon Mignolet in a £9m deal from Sunderland in the 2013 summer transfer window but the Belgian’s Reds career has been punctuated by mistakes.

Jurgen Klopp brought in former Manchester City youth goalkeeper Loris Karius in a £4.7m deal from his former employers Mainz 05 in 2016.

However, the Germany Under-21 international made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga side Real Madrid in the Champions League final back in May.

Their misfortune with signing goalkeepers led Liverpool FC to spend what was a world record fee on Brazil number one Alisson.

Indeed, the Reds coughed up a £67m transfe fee for the AS Roma shot stopper, making the South American their second most expensive signing behind Virgil van Dijk.

Alisson has already had a big impact at the Reds after conceding just three goals in his opening eight games in the Premier League.

Liverpool FC teenager Alexander-Arnold was quick to give credit to Alisson for Liverpool FC’s defensive improvement in the current campaign.

“The messages the manager gives us and the way we defend as a team is front footed,” Gomez told Liverpool FC’s website.

“We don’t want to concede too many chances and we haven’t so far this season, but when the ‘keeper has been called upon, Alisson has made some world-class saves and shown he is a world-class ‘keeper.”

Klopp’s men had conceded 11 times in their opening eight games in the Premier League last term, but Alisson has already kept five clean sheets in the current campaign.

Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table after a goalless draw with defending champions Manchester City at Anfield last weekend.

The Reds are level on points with Manchester City and Chelsea FC at the top of the table ahead of their trip to Huddersfield Town in their next top flight fixture on Saturday 20 October.
