The former Spurs boss is backing Liverpool FC to challenge for the Premier League title
Harry Redknapp has tipped Liverpool FC to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
The Reds have signed four new players in the summer transfer window following their Champions League final disappointment.
Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco star Fabinho and RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita to improve their options in the middle of the park.
The Merseyside outfit have also signed Swiss playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri in a £13.5m from Stoke City.
Liverpool FC finished their summer spending with the £67m addition of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
Former Spurs manager Redknapp believes the Reds will win their first Premier League title in the current campaign.
“City will be favourites, but if Kevin de Bruyne is out for a few months that’s a big blow,” Redknapp told talkSPORT.
“I think Liverpool could mount a real challenge this year.
“You look at their forward power now, the front three are incredible, Daniel Sturridge came off the bench the other day and scored and Xherdan Shaqiri is there, he’s another player with great ability.
“I think they could be real threat this season to Manchester City. If they’re going to do it, it’s going to be this season.
“They seem to have a great spirit there, the manager is a like Pep, he’s got a great personality and the players seem to like him.
“I think this could be Liverpool’s year to win a championship again.”

Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against the Hammers courtesy of goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge.
The Merseyside outfit haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
Liverpool FC came close to winning the Premier League crown under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers in the 2013-14 season but the Reds narrowly missed out on the top-flight campaign.
Klopp took over the reins from Rodgers in October 2015.
