Mark Lawrenson sends warning to Jordan Henderson about Liverpool FC future
The Reds legend has a warning for Jordan Henderson about his place in the Liverpool FC team
Mark Lawrenson believes Jordan Henderson is fighting for a place in the Liverpool FC team.
The Reds skipper is facing a battle to secure a starting spot in Jurgen Klopp’s team in the current campaign.
Liverpool FC signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco back in June.
The Reds added Guinea international Naby Keita to his squad in a £48m switch from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
The Merseyside outfit have also signed Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City to add even more depth to their midfield options.
He came off the bench in Liverpool FC’s 1-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson believes Henderson is fighting to keep a place in Klopp’s team.
“I would never go overboard about a player but he is just a freak,” Lawrenson told Newstalk.
“The way he gets out of tight spaces, He sees a pass. He has a fantastic engine. I know it’s two games but this fella has a lot to offer.”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014 under three different managers.
The Reds have finished in the top four in the last two seasons under former Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp.
