Jurgen Klopp told Liverpool FC need to learn how to be ‘boring’
The Liverpool FC vice captain wants Jurgen Klopp's side to be more boring after their six-goal thriller at Arsenal on Friday night

James Milner has urged Liverpool FC to learn how to be boring and better manage games.
The Reds appeared to be coasting to victory at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night after Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah scored either side of half-time to put Liverpool FC in a commanding position.
However, the Merseyside outfit didn’t take the foot off the pedal and adopt a more conservative approach to cement three points in their final Premier League game before Christmas Day.
Arsenal trio Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil all scored in an incredible four minutes and 45 seconds to turn the Premier League games on its head.
Liverpool FC managed to salvage a point thanks to Roberto Firmino’s second-half goal but vice-captain Milner was understandably disappointing with the draw given the visitors’ lead.
Speaking to Sky Sports on the pitch alongside Jack Wilshere following the six-goal thriller, Milner admitted that Jurgen Klopp’s team needed to learn how to be boring.
“When you’re in a position like that [2-0], you’ve got to see the game out,” Milner told Sky Sports. “You’ve got be more boring.
“There are times in a game where you have to tighten up and not make mistakes for five minutes. All the goals were our fault. We have to learn from it. It seems to be a theme for us this year.”
Liverpool have made a habit of squandering leading positions this season in the Champions League and the Premier League.
The Reds eased to a 3-0 half-time advantage in Spain back in November before a second-half collapse resulted in a 3-3 stalemate in Sevilla.
