Jamie Carragher: What worries me about Liverpool FC ahead of Arsenal clash
Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher gives his verdict on the Reds defence ahead of the Arsenal clash on Saturday

Jamie Carragher has admitted that he is worried about Liverpool FC’s defence ahead of the visit of Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Reds will welcome Unai Emery’s side to Merseyside this weekend as both clubs look to preserve their 100 per cent records in the Premier League.
Liverpool FC were 4-1 winners against Norwich City in their season opener before a 2-1 victory at Southampton last weekend.
Arsenal edged to a 1-0 triumph over Newcastle United before the Gunners beat Burnley 2-1 at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have conceded four times in three games so far this season, including their 2-2 draw with Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup before Liverpool FC won the trophy in the penalty shootout.
The Reds had the best defence in the Premier League last term after Liverpool FC conceded a mere 22 times in the 2018-19 campaign.
However, Klopp is without his number one goalkeeper Alisson Becker due to injury, with his replacement Adrian making a mistake in a 2-1 win at Southampton last weekend.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher has admitted that he’s worried about Klopp’s back four ahead of the visit of Arsenal.
“What Liverpool have done this season, we’re talking about them playing a high line, I’m not necessarily sure it’s a higher line, but it looks to me as if they’re trying to play offside,” Carragher told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
“They caught players offside more than anyone in the Premier League this season.
“I don’t like it and I think they’ve been lucky and fortunate at different times this season to get away with it.”
Asked about the pace of the Arsenal attack, Carragher added:
“Well that’s what you think, you think [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, [Alexandre] Lacazette, [Nicolas] Pepe maybe coming on also.
“When I say Liverpool have got away with it, the quality they’ve played against hasn’t been top class.
“I said after the Norwich game, if they were playing a top team they may not have won. Considering they won 4-1, it’s a big thing to say I suppose, but the quality Arsenal have, if Liverpool get caught in those positions and don’t run back, they’re going to have major problems within that game.”
The Liverpool FC defence could line up against Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe at Anfield on Saturday evening.
