Jamie Carragher has warned Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool FC aren’t “miles ahead” of their top-four rivals.

The Reds notched up successive Premier League victories on Monday night thanks to a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.

James Milner and Sadio Mane got on the score sheet at Selhurst Park to help Liverpool FC secure three points.

Liverpool FC are in second place in the Premier League table and behind defending champions Manchester City on goal difference.

The Merseyside outfit have finished in the top four in the last two seasons in the Premier League, although both campaigns hinged on the final game.

Klopp signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho, RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the summer transfer window.

Alisson and Keita have commanded automatic spots in Klopp’s starting XI for their victories over West Ham United and Brighton at the start of the season.

Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher believes the Reds aren’t that far ahead of Chelsea FC, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

“It’s not Liverpool are miles ahead,” Carragher told Sky Sports. “It will be a fight amongst the teams. I think Liverpool will edge it.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second spot in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga side Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev last term.
