Jamie Redknapp: What frustrates me about Liverpool FC under Jurgen Klopp
The Liverpool FC legend believes the Reds could challenge Manchester City if Jurgen Klopp could resolve their defensive problems

Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Liverpool FC could challenge Manchester City for silverware in future seasons if Jurgen Klopp can address their defensive problems.
The Reds made an emphatic return to winning ways following a 5-0 victory over the Premier League’s basement club Swansea City at Anfield on Boxing Day.
Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sealed three points for the 18-time English champions.
Liverpool FC have scored 46 times in 20 games in the Premier League this season and only Manchester City have netted more times than Klopp’s brilliant attack.
However, the Reds have conceded 23 times in the Premier League this term to undermine the brilliant performances of the Liverpool FC attack.
Liverpool FC squandered a 2-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in their final Premier League fixture before Christmas Day.
Former Reds captain Redknapp opened up about why Liverpool FC really frustrate him in the aftermath of their resounding victory over the Welsh side on Tuesday night.
“They frustrate you because they are so good at times, you think if they could find a way of stopping those silly goals they concede they could theoretically be the team to challenge Manchester City in years to come,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“It’s just the defence that worries me because going forward they are a dream. They have so much pace going forward and are as good as anybody, when they are purring they are amazing to watch, and they have options, they didn’t even have [Sadio] Mane today. They have players that can do special things.”
Liverpool FC have never won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the table in their first full season under Klopp’s management.
