Jurgen Klopp rates new Liverpool FC signing’s display after Alisson blow
Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp gives his verdict on Adrian after his debut on Friday night

Jurgen Klopp has praised Adrian’s performance in the Liverpool FC goal after the Spanish goalkeeper made his debut in Friday night’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City.
The Reds signed Adrian in a free transfer to replace Simon Mignolet last week after West Ham released the 32-year-old goalkeeper at the end of the 2018-19 Premier League season.
Alisson’s injury in the 38th minute of Liverpool FC’s opening-day victory meant that Adrian got to make his Reds debut earlier than expected at Anfield.
The Spanish shot-stopper was unable to keep a clean sheet as Norwich midfielder Teemo Pukka scored a consolation goal in the second half on Merseyside.
Alisson is set to be sidelined with a calf injury for between four and eight weeks, which means the summer signing is set to get regular first-team football over the next month or so.
Speaking at his post-match media conference about Adrian’s debut, Klopp was impressed with his new arrival’s composure despite an unexpected run out on Friday night.
“He’s a very confident guy. I don’t think he wanted to sit only on the bench for the next couple of years, he made himself ready.
“If you are in a situation like this you want to have somebody who played in the league, who is experienced, he is 32 and a calm guy. He is good with his feet, how we saw, that is really important for us.
“[There are] a lot of good things. You still don’t want to have a situation where one goalie is fit, that’s how it is but we have to see.”
Liverpool FC will take on Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup in Istanbul on Wednesday night before the Reds make the trip to Southampton in the Premier League next Saturday afternoon.
The Merseyside outfit won the Champions League last term thanks to a 2-0 win over Spurs.
