Graeme Souness urges Jurgen Klopp to talk up Liverpool FC’s title prospects
The Liverpool FC legend believes Jurgen Klopp shouldn't be afraid to talk up his side's chances of winning the Premier League title

Graeme Souness has urged Jurgen Klopp to embrace Liverpool FC’s tag as title contenders this season.
The Reds are still waiting to win their first piece of silverware under former Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool FC lost to Manchester City in the League Cup final before a 3-1 defeat by Sevilla in the Europa League showpiece in 2016.
The Merseyside outfit suffered further disappointment when Real Madrid beat Klopp’s side 3-1 in the Champions League final in Kiev back in May.
Liverpool FC have signed AS Monaco star AS Monaco, RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma’s Alisson Becker.
The 18-time English champions have won their opening two Premier League games thanks to victories over West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
Former Liverpool FC defender Souness believes Klopp shouldn’t be afraid to talk up his Reds side.
“Quietly I think they fancy themselves,” Souness told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“I got playing down the optimism with the supporters but they’ve gone out and signed players. I think Klopp believes it but he has gone down a different road I would go do. I am exceptionally optimistic.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table last term to continue their participation in the Champions League.
Klopp’s side will be hoping to replicate their progress in Europe in the 2018-19 campaign.
