Michael Owen names two Liverpool FC star who have made Reds title challengers
The Liverpool FC legend credits Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk with significantly improving the Reds

Michael Owen believes Liverpool FC are genuine title challengers this season thanks to the addition of Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds have significantly bolstered their defence over the past nine months following the arrival of Alisson and Van Dijk.
Liverpool FC signed Van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window following a protracted pursuit of the Dutch defender.
The Merseyside outfit made the Netherlands international the most expensive defender in the world following his move to Liverpool FC.
Jurgen Klopp signed Alisson in a £67m swoop from Serie A giants AS Roma last month to replace Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet in goal.
The Brazil international has made a fine start to his Liverpool FC career after Alisson kept three successive clean sheets.
Liverpool FC are sitting at the top of the Premier League table ahead of Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.
Former England striker Owen underlined the influence that both Alisson and Van Dijk have made on the Liverpool FC team.
“Liverpool have kept 11 clean sheets in the Premier League in 18 games since Virgil van Dijk’s debut in January and new keeper Alisson has yet to concede a goal so far this season,” Owen told BetVictor.
“It is this improved defensive solidarity as much as the flair of the attacking players which is making the Reds genuine title contenders.”
The Reds will take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon in search of a fourth successive Premier League win.
