Jamie Carragher: What I think about Naby Keita at Liverpool FC
Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher was impressed with Naby Keita's opening goal
Jamie Carragher says Naby Keita’s pressing was one of the main reasons Jurgen Klopp signed the midfielder after his goal in Liverpool FC’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield on Friday night.
The Guinea international started for the 16th time in the Premier League this season after the Liverpool FC boss opted to stick with the in-form midfielder.
Klopp was rewarded for Keita’s inclusion when the summer signing won the ball in midfield before he finished the counter-attacking move inside 15 seconds of the Premier League clash.
Keita’s precise finish was his second Premier League goal of the season and his third strike in his last five games in all competitions to hit form at the right time.
The Guinea international produced a hardworking performance in the centre of the pitch as he helped Liverpool FC ease to a resounding victory over Huddersfield.
Keita has endured a tough first season at the Anfield side but his goal against Southampton earlier this month has helped the former RB Leipzig man turn a corner.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher believes Keita’s ability to put opponents under pressure was one of the chief reasons Klopp’s signed the African.
“People talk about Keita coming into the team and what supposedly he was going to bring,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“This is one of the main reasons Jurgen Klopp bought him. That pressing. Getting after people. He got the goal also.”
Both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane scored twice in Liverpool FC’s resounding 5-0 victory over Huddersfield on Friday night.
