Naby Keita opens up about Jurgen Klopp’s management at Liverpool FC
Naby Keita says Jurgen Klopp doesn't have 'any particular favourites' at Liverpool FC
Naby Keita says Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have any favourites in his Liverpool FC squad.
The Guinea international has found his first-team opportunities limited under the German head coach so far this season.
Keita played a bit-part role in their Champions League success last season, scoring one goal and making one assist in six European games.
The Liverpool FC number eight impressed in their 4-1 win over Belgian side Genk in the Champions League last week.
However, Keita didn’t feature in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win over Spurs in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Klopp’s management style has been widely praised since his successful spell in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
The Liverpool FC boss has built a good spirit within the Reds squad over the past four years.
However, Keita claims that Klopp doesn’t have any favourites, as he shed some light on what the Liverpool FC boss is like behind the scenes.
“I don’t think he has any particular favourites or he has picked anyone out for a special mention, he communicates very freely and openly with all the players,” Keita told Sky Sports News.
“He likes to laugh and joke around, he has a very light relationship with all the players.”
Keita moved to Liverpool FC in a £48m deal from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old netted three times in 48 games in all competitions over the past year and a half.
Liverpool FC are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and six points ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
Klopp’s side will take on Arsenal in the League Cup fourth round on Wednesday night at Anfield.
