Roberto Firmino will be the key player for Liverpool FC this season, according to BBC Sport pundit Stephen Warnock.
The Brazil international started Liverpool FC’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City in their Premier League opener on Friday night.
Norwich defender Grant Hanley netted an inadvertent own goal to set Liverpool FC on their way in the season opener.
Firmino provided the assist for Mohamed Salah to open his Premier League account for the new season as the Egypt international bids to finish top of the goal-scoring charts for a third successive campaign.
Virgil van Dijk and Divock Origi completed a clinical first-half performance from the Champions League winners to end the game as a contest.
Liverpool FC conceded in the second half as Adrian was unable to make the dream start to his Reds career after the summer signing replaced Alisson Becker before the break.
Former Reds defender Warnock identified Firmino as the integral player in the Liverpool FC team.
“Roberto Firmino has been superb. He looks back to his best,” Warnock told BBC Sport.
“He looks fit and he looks hungry. I think everything that’s good about Liverpool comes from him.
“When the ball goes up to him it sticks, he sees things and Liverpool can make runs off him. That’s where their game plan comes from.”
Firmino scored 16 times in 48 games in all competitions last term, which was 11 goals less than the 2017-18 season.
Liverpool FC finished in second place in the Premier League table last term but the Reds will be hoping to go on better this season.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title.
