Roy Keane was quick to play down the significance of Liverpool FC’s 7-0 win against Spartak Moscow in the Champions League, adding that the Reds haven’t beaten a big club in Europe or the Premier League this season.

Liverpool FC secured a 7-0 win for the second time in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night thanks to Philippe Coutinho’s hat-trick, Sadio Mane’s brace and goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

The Merseyside outfit finished with 23 goals in their six Champions League group stage games to set a new European record for Premier League clubs.

The 18-time English champions have scored 12 goals in their last two games in all competitions to take their tally to 30 goals in their last 30 outings to highlight their attacking prowess under German coach Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool FC will welcome their bitter rivals Everton to Anfield in their next Premier League game in search of a sixth win in their last seven Premier League games.

However, former Manchester United captain Keane is underwhelmed by Liverpool FC’s performances despite their impressive goal tally.

“Clearly they’re beating these so-called lesser teams, and the same in the Premier League, but they’ve beaten nobody yet, domestically and in Europe yet,” Keane told ITV.

“The big tests are yet to come for Liverpool. They are certainly in great form at the moment, but the bigger teams are still to come.

“Going forward it’s lovely to watch when they play well, but they wouldn’t get that time and space against the decent teams, it’s as simple as that. Give quality players time on the ball and they will punish you, but they won’t get that time and space against quality teams.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-season absence.
