Jurgen Klopp told 25-year-old Liverpool FC star is back to his best
Former Liverpool FC defender Stephen Warnock believes Sadio Mane is back to his best
Sadio Mane is back to his best in a Liverpool FC shirt following his Champions League hat-trick, according to Stephen Warnock.
The Reds forward was instrumental in helping the Merseyside club to secure a resounding 5-0 win at Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
Mane broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when his goal crept under Jose Sa before the Senegal international made it 3-0 in the second half after Mohamed Salah’s goal.
The African star completed his hat-trick with a long-range goal to take his tally to 12 goals in all competitions this season.
Mane netted three goals in Liverpool FC’s opening three Premier League games before his sending off in a 5-0 loss at Manchester City halted his momentum.
Injury and a loss of form have meant that Mane has gone under the radar in recent months given the incredible form of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
However, former Liverpool FC defender Warnock believes Mane is back to his best following his Champions League heroics.
“Sadio Mane has looked off, not as confident in the first half of the season, not always running at people, making things happen the way he used to. Whether he’s trying to ease himself back after injuries slow, maybe,” Warnock told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“But tonight he’s back, got his hat-trick and looked great again.”
Mane moved to Liverpool FC in a £30m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton in the 2016 summer transfer window.
