Sadio Mane raves about selfless Liverpool FC star
Sadio Mane was full of praise for Roberto Firmino's performance in Liverpool FC's victory over Chelsea FC in the Uefa Super Cup

Sadio Mane has heaped praise on Roberto Firmino for his selflessness after Liverpool FC won the Uefa Super Cup on Wednesday night.
The Brazil international was a half-time substitute for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the Uefa clash in Istanbul with Liverpool FC trailing 1-0 after Olivier Giroud’s goal.
Firmino didn’t take long to have an impact, as the number nine teed up Sadio Mane to level the Super Cup clash despite being one-on-one with Chelsea FC goalkeeper Kepa.
The 28-year-old then produced a brilliant pass inside the Chelsea FC penalty area set up Mane to make it 2-1 in extra-time before Jorginho levelled to force a penalty shootout.
Firmino made no mistake from the penalty spot with his effort before Chelsea FC striker Tammy Abraham missed his decisive spot-kick attempt to hand the trophy to Liverpool FC.
Speaking about his strike partner, Mane was full of praise for Firmino’s selfless attitude.
“To be honest, I think I was just a lucky boy,” Mane told Uefa, as quoted by Liverpool FC’s website.
“I think all the credit should go to my team-mates, especially Bobby – he could have scored but he preferred to give it to me.
“I think this is how we play at Liverpool. We play for each other and we always enjoy playing for each other and to give each other passes. I think that makes us strong.”
Liverpool FC were 4-1 winners against Norwich City in their Premier League opener at Anfield on Friday night.
The Reds are in third position in the Premier League table behind bitter rivals Manchester City and Manchester United.
Liverpool FC will take on Southampton at St Mary’s in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.
