Martin Keown: Liverpool FC star makes scoring goals look so easy
The Arsenal legend believes Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah's nonchalance in front of goal makes the African a prolific goal-scorer
Martin Keown says Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah makes goal-scoring look easy.
The Egypt international moved to the Reds in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Salah’s move to Liverpool FC raised some eyebrows given his disappointing eight-month spell at Chelsea FC in 2014.
The 25-year-old was one of Serie A’s most-creative players during his two-season stint at AS Roma following a return of 29 goals in 65 games in the Italian top flight.
Salah has made a brilliant start to his Liverpool FC career following a return of 22 goals in 27 games in the Premier League this term.
The Egyptian netted his 30th goal of his fledgling Liverpool FC career so far when Salah scored the Merseyside club’s second goal in a 5-0 win at Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
Former Arsenal defender Keown attempted to explain why Salah has proven such a prolific goal-scorer in the 2017-18 season.
“When he opens up to shoot with his left foot, he seems to make the goal look massive,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“There is a nonchalance when is in front of goal. He reads things so well and makes everything look easy.”
Salah scored his 22nd Premier League goal of the 2017-18 campaign in a 2-0 win at Southampton last weekend.
Only Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has scored more goals than Salah in the English top flight this term.
