Ian Wright: Why Liverpool FC star shouldn’t be compared to Lionel Messi
The Arsenal legend believes comparisons between Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah and Lionel Messi are premature

Ian Wright doesn’t believe Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah should be compared to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
The Egypt international moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Salah’s move was initially met with some skepticism given his struggles during an eight-month stint at Chelsea FC in 2014.
The African forward netted four goals in a 5-0 win over Watford in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Salah scored 28 goals in 30 games in the Premier League this term to head the division’s goal-scoring charts.
In fact, the 25-year-old has netted 36 times in all competitions in the 2017-18 season, only Cristiano Ronaldo has netted more goals.
Former Arsenal striker Wright isn’t happy with the comparisons between Messi and Salah.
“People have to stop comparing him to Messi. Let him get on doing what he is doing,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Let Salah get on with what he is doing.”
Liverpool FC will take on Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to Europe’s premier club competition.
