Mark Lawrenson: Jurgen Klopp will make new Liverpool FC signing a success at Anfield
The Liverpool FC legend is confident Virgil van Dijk will be a big hit at the Anfield outfit

Mark Lawrenson is confident Jurgen Klopp will ensure Virgil van Dijk is a big success at Anfield.
The Merseyside outfit signed Van Dijk in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Southampton in the Janaury transfer window.
Klopp made the Netherlands international the most expensive defender in the world after Liverpool FC finally landed their top defensive target.
Van Dijk is still waiting to make his Liverpool FC debut and could feature against Merseyside rivals Everton in the FA Cup third round at Anfield on Friday night.
The ex-Celtic centre-half will be tasked with improving Klopp’s leaky defence after the Reds conceded 25 times in 22 games in the Premier League this term.
Liverpool FC were questioned about the size of Van Dijk’s transfer fee given the 26-year-old has never played for a top European club.
Former Reds defender Lawrenson is confident Klopp will work hard to ensure Van Dijk is a big hit at the Anfield outfit.
“Yes, he will be a success. If you’re the manager who paid £75m for him, you’re going to make sure he is a success,” Lawrenson told Irish radio station Newstalk on Tuesday night.
Liverpool FC will take on Portuguese giants FC Porto in the Champions League last 16 next month as the Reds look to win the competition for the first time since 2005.
The 18-time English champions are in fourth place in the Premier League table with 16 games to go.
