Jamie Carragher identifies one area where Virgil van Dijk can improve at Liverpool FC
Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher wants Virgil van Dijk to score more goals this season

Jamie Carragher has challenged Virgil van Dijk to score more goals if the Liverpool FC defender wants to go down as a Premier League great.
The Netherlands international enjoyed a successful first full season at Liverpool FC after the Reds signed Van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in January 2018.
Van Dijk was named the PFA player of the year last term after the Dutch centre-half helped Liverpool FC to keep the best defensive record in the 2018-19 Premier League season.
The 27-year-old was named man of the match in Liverpool FC’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in June.
Van Dijk scored six times in the 2018-19 season in all competitions, including four Premier League goals.
The Reds star got his season off to a good start with a goal in Liverpool FC’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City at Anfield on Friday night.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher wants to see Van Dijk score more goals this season.
“I always say Virgil van Dijk should get more goals,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“It was an outstanding delivery. They scored a lot of goals from set pieces last season. Van Dijk was far too powerful.
“He’s the PFA player of the year. He may have a run for the Ballon d’Or.
“We know he’s a great defender but if he adds more goals to his game, he’ll go down as one of the best.”
Liverpool FC finished in second place in the Premier League table last term and a point adrift of champions Manchester City.
The Reds lost one game in the Premier League game, a 2-1 defeat by champions Manchester City at The Etihad.
Liverpool FC will take on Southampton in their next league fixture.
