Ian Rush hails Liverpool FC signing as ‘world class’
The Liverpool FC legend is thrilled with the addition of Xherdan Shaqiri

Ian Rush has hailed Xherdan Shaqiri as a world class addition to the Liverpool FC team.
The Merseyside outfit signed Shaqiri in a cut price £13.5m deal from relegated Stoke City in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Shaqiri will be tasked with helping to replace the void left by Brazil star Philippe Coutinho following his move to FC Barcelona in a £142m deal in January.
The Switzerland international was inconsistent during his three seasons at Stoke City with 15 goals in 92 games in all competitions.
Shaqiri netted 8 times in 38 games last season under Mark Hughes and his replacement Paul Lambert at the Potters.
The 26-year-old has a wealth of experience in Europe from his spell at Basel, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
Former Liverpool FC striker Rush believes Shaqiri is a great signing for Jurgen Klopp ahead of the new Premier League season.
“He is quality,” Rush told the Second Captains podcast. “It is about the man management.
“Klopp knows how to get best out of him. Maybe he won’t play in week in, week out.
“He may have to fight for his position. He is a world class player. I am really looking forward to seeing him play.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a spot in the Champions League.
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final last term to miss out on a first trophy under Klopp.
The Merseyside outfit have also signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho, RB Leipzig star Naby Keita and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
