Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool are not in a good position in the Premier League.

The Merseyside outfit ended a three-game winless run with a 3-0 victory over promoted side Huddersfield Town at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Egypt international Mohamed Salah missed a first-half penalty for the home side after Roberto Firmino was fouled inside the area.

However, Daniel Sturridge spared Salah’s blushes with a brilliant lifted finish before Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum polished off a comfortable victory.

Liverpool hoisted themselves up to sixth place in the Premier League table thanks to their 3-0 win but the 18-time English champions are still 12 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Klopp’s side have only managed to win four of their opening 10 games in the Premier League to raise questions about their ability to challenge for the title or finish in the top four.

Liverpool have suffered big losses to title rivals at Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur this term.

Speaking at his post-match media conference following Liverpool’s comfortable win, Klopp admitted that the Reds have been on a poor run of form in the Premier League.

“Obviously we are not in that good a position but in our season – [and] I don’t have to explain it again and again and again – we had much more good games than everyone can see when you look at our points,” Klopp said.

“But we had one really bad one and the whole world watched it against Tottenham. We don’t ignore the performances before and we don’t ignore the Tottenham game.”

Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season.
