Graeme Souness: Jurgen Klopp wanted to ‘kane’ Liverpool FC star
Graeme Souness has his say about Dejan Lovren and Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool FC's loss to Spurs

Graeme Souness has claimed that Jurgen Klopp wanted to lay into Dejan Lovren after Liverpool’s loss to Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend.
The Croatian defender was heavily criticised for his display for the Reds as he was at fault for Spurs’ opening goals before being substituted before half-time.
Liverpool’s defensive displays this season have left a lot to be desired, with the Reds having only won three of their opening nine Premier League games.
Klopp was understandably downbeat when talking to the media in the wake of Liverpool’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham on Sunday.
And former Liverpool star Souness believes that the German was keen to lay into Lovren after the game but held back.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness said: “That’s as low as I’ve seen him [Klopp].
“He wants to cane Lovren, but he can’t say it. You’re only as strong as your weakest link. Lovren was their weakest link.
“They found themselves second best to one of the best teams around. It’s difficult.”
Liverpool will now dust themselves down as they look to return to winning ways in the Premier League next weekend when they host Huddersfield at Anfield.
Huddersfield head into that game looking to build on their shock 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the top flight last weekend.
Liverpool, who finished fourth in the Premier League last season, already find themselves 12 points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the title after just nine games.
