Pat Nevin: Why Man City should be worried about Liverpool FC in title race
Newstalk pundit Pat Nevin says Liverpool FC's front three look ever better this season
Pat Nevin says Manchester City should be worried because Liverpool FC’s attack looks even deadlier this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a strong start to the Premier League season following five successive top-flight victories.
Goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool FC to secure a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United at Anfield last weekend.
Manchester City, meanwhile, suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to promoted side Norwich City to lose ground on their title rivals.
Liverpool FC are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League table to lay down a marker in the opening months of the season.
Mane and Salah have already scored four goals in five games, while Roberto Firmino has netted twice and made three assists.
Former Chelsea FC winger Nevin believes Klopp’s front three look even better this season following their prolific start to the campaign.
“Liverpool don’t look like dropping points,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“They’re cruising through games right now. I think the front three look better now than they did before. That’s a real concern for Man City.”
Liverpool FC suffered a 2-0 loss to Serie A side Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday night to make a disappointing start to the defence of their crown.
The Reds will be hoping to bounce back with a win when Liverpool FC make the trip to Chelsea FC in their next Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Liverpool FC have earned 15 points from their opening five games.
