‘What a player’: Adam Lallana raves about Liverpool FC attacker
Adam Lallana praises Sadio Mane for his fine form for Liverpool FC in recent weeks
Adam Lallana heaped praise on Sadio Mane after the Senegal international helped to fire Liverpool FC to a crucial 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Reds looked to be heading towards their first Premier League defeat of the season at Villa Park after Trezeguet’s opener in the first half.
However, Andy Robertson headed in an equaliser for Jurgen Klopp’s men in the 87th minute, before Mane found the all-important winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time to keep Liverpool FC six points clear at the top of the table.
Mane has been in top form for Liverpool FC so far this season and he has scored six goals and made two assists in 11 Premier League games.
The 27-year-old has also scored twice in three Champions League appearances for Liverpool FC so far this season.
And Liverpool FC midfielder Lallana has admitted that he has been thoroughly impressed by what he has seen from Mane this term.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Express, Lallana said: “What a player Mane is He just comes up with big moments all the time. Same with Robbo [Andy Robertson] as well. Massive for us.”
Reflecting on the game as a whole, Lallana continued: “Two goals in the last five minutes. We’ve just got that momentum. We’re just on that path at the minute.
“It doesn’t surprise me you know? It doesn’t surprise me that we got that second goal.
“We were poor first half today and it was important we had a reaction second half and we did. I had a big chance with 15 to go. We just needed that goal to change the momentum and that’s exactly what happened.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action with a crunch clash against Manchester City on Sunday at Anfield.
Before that, they will host Genk in the Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday night.
