Liverpool FC face competition from Arsenal to sign 22-year-old German – report
Liverpool FC will face competition from Arsenal to sign Max Meyer from Schalke this summer, say reports

Liverpool FC are set to come up against competition from Arsenal for the signature of Max Meyer this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the two Premier League sides are leading the race for his signature after FC Barcelona pulled out of the running.
The same report says that Liverpool FC and Arsenal could now be the favourites to land the 22-year-old German midfielder at the end of the season.
The story also claims that Meyer is thought to be one of the Gunners’ top transfer targets this summer as the north London side look to significantly bolster their squad in the off-season.
Liverpool FC, meanwhile, are said to be interested as they continue to look for a long-term replacement for Philippe Coutinho at Anfield.
Meyer has been a regular fixture in the Schalke team so far this season, making 23 appearances in the Bundesliga for the German side.
The midfielder would be available on a free transfer this summer as he current contract with Schalke is due to expire in June.
Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table, while Arsenal are sixth and look set to miss out on a top-four finish this season.
