Liverpool FC CEO Peter Moore has admitted that he doesn’t know what will happen with Philippe Coutinho – but insists that the Brazilian is committed to performing for the Anfield outfit.

The Brazilian playmaker’s future was a relentless source of speculation during the summer transfer window as he was touted as one of Barcelona’s top targets.

However, with the attacker having only signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool FC back in January, the Anfield outfit were under no pressure to sell and opted to keep Coutinho at the club, despite the player himself being keen on a move to Spain.

There is bound to be plenty of fresh speculation linking Coutinho with a move to Barcelona in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.

Liverpool FC chief Moore admits that he doesn’t know what the future holds for Coutinho but insists that the player remains dedicated to the cause at Anfield.

Moore told Sky Sports News: “We made one statement last year and the player is not for sale and that is the statement the ownership made.

“Me adding to that, every day you see stories emanating from Spain that Barcelona, or whomever, are coming back for Philippe Coutinho.

“I saw a player who was delighted to score a hat-trick for his club in front of 54,000 delighted fans on Wednesday night.

“And anything other than that focus right now is on Sunday and then we have West Brom, and it is all about Philippe on the pitch right now.

“As far as I am concerned, the squad we have right now is the squad we are going to go into January with. And I do not have a crystal ball, so I do not know what is going to happen.

“But Philippe Coutinho is a dedicated, intense Liverpool player right now that is delivering.”

Coutinho has been in top form for Liverpool FC in recent weeks, scoring nine goals and making six assists in all competitions for the Merseyside outfit.

He’ll be expecting to start when the Reds take on Everton at Anfield on Sunday.
