Daniel Sturridge has refused to be drawn on his Liverpool FC future after the Reds won the Champions League on Saturday.

The English striker won the European competition for the second time after having lifted the trophy with Chelsea FC back in 2012.

The 29-year-old has had to watch from the sidelines for much of the season as Liverpool FC challenged for the Premier League title and went all the way in the Champions League.

Sturridge was limited to just four starts in the Premier League this term, although he did feature 14 times from the bench in the top flight.

He scored a total of three goals and made two assists in all competitions for the Reds this season, but he will likely be disappointed by his lack of playing time this term.

His lack of first-team action is likely to trigger speculation about his future this summer, but the former Chelsea FC forward was giving nothing away when quizzed about his situation after the Champions League final.

Sturridge is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “I feel like it has been an incredible time and I am not going to talk about next season or anything.

“What’s important now is celebrating something so momentous, something we were striving for, working for a long time. To finally win something is amazing.

“It’s my second time [winning the Champions League]. It’s almost similar. The one with Chelsea was the first in the club’s history and this is the first under this manager, so it’s a similar kind of feeling.”

Liverpool FC will be aiming to go one step further in the Premier League next season and lift the trophy.
