Jose Enrique believes that Andy Robertson is one of the best left-backs in the world following his “unbelievable” form for Liverpool FC.

The Scot has made the left-back role at Anfield his own since moving to the Merseyside outfit from Hull City in the summer of 2017.

Robertson has been a constant fixture in the Liverpool FC side in recent seasons and he has earned plenty of praise for his solid performances at the back.

He won his first major trophy as a Red last season when he helped Jurgen Klopp’s men to win the Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Liverpool FC left-back Enrique is a big fan of the 25-year-old and feels that he deserves special credit for the role he plays at Anfield.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports News, Enrique said: “He is unbelievable. I’ve said it before, for me, last year he was the best left-back in the world.

“I know that was given to Marcelo but that was not fair in my opinion. Not just because Liverpool won the Champions League but because he has been an amazing player fort Liverpool.

“He gives so much to that side. And him and Mane together [on Liverpool’s left] – I wouldn’t want to be on the right side for the other team.”

Robertson will be expecting to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.

Liverpool FC have won all eight of their opening Premier League games so far this season to leave them a staggering eight points clear at the top of the table.
