Gary Neville has named Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino amongst five players who he considers to be “irreplaceable” at Liverpool FC this season.

The Reds have been in fine form this season and they are pushing Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool FC are currently searching for their first major trophy under Jurgen Klopp and they are a point behind leaders Manchester City heading into the final round of fixtures this weekend.

The Merseyside outfit have been greatly boosted by the additions of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Salah in recent years.

And former Manchester United defender Neville has now named the five players who he thinks are vital to Liverpool FC’s hopes of winning silverware in the near future.

Speaking to Sky Sports, as quoted by Metro, Neville said: “Liverpool’s squad depth has been criticised all season. The likelihood for me is that if Liverpool had suffered with injuries, they would have struggled.

“[Mohamed] Salah, [Roberto] Firmino and [Sadio] Mane have been almost ever-present. So have [Virgil] van Dijk and Alisson. Those are the five players that I call irreplaceable at Liverpool.

“If any of those had been injured for long periods, I think Liverpool would have struggled.”

Liverpool FC will take on Wolves at Anfield in their final game of the season on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will be hoping to see Manchester City slip-up in their final game of the campaign, when Pep Guardiola’s men head to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Liverpool FC have still not won a major trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
