Gary Neville explains why he is such a big admirer of Philippe Coutinho in the Liverpool FC side
Gary Neville has heaped praise on Philippe Coutinho following his recent strong performances for Liverpool FC.
The Brazilian playmaker is widely regarded as one of the top flight’s most talented attacking players and he has been in top form for the Reds once again this season.
Coutinho’s future was a relentless source of speculation in the summer months but after Liverpool FC opted to ignore the reported interest from Barcelona and keep hold of the attacker, he has been in top form for the Reds once again.
The Brazil international found the net once again for the Reds when they earned a 3-3 draw with Arsenal at The Emirates last week.
And speaking after the game, former Manchester United defender Neville talked up the importance of Coutinho to the Liverpool FC side.
Neville told Sky Sports: “He is so intelligent.
“When he is playing at his best, he is in behind the midfield and defence, he is turning and he has a fantastic shot with his right foot.”
Coutinho will be expecting to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against Leicester City.
The Reds will be aiming to climb the Premier League table in the new year as they look to at least match their fourth-placed finish in the top flight from last season.
Liverpool FC will take on FC Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League in the new year.
