Steven Gerrard sends Liverpool FC warning to Chelsea FC
Steven Gerrard discusses Liverpool FC's current form as the race for Champions League qualification hots up

Steven Gerrard has talked up the importance of Liverpool FC returning to winning ways last weekend to ramp up the pressure on Chelsea FC.
Gerrard was at Anfield as the Reds produced a devastating attacking display to thrash Watford 5-0 on Merseyside and bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the previous weekend.
That win lifted Liverpool FC into third place in the Premier League table and left them seven points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea FC, although the Reds have played one game more than the Blues.
The race for Champions League qualification via a top-four finish in the Premier League is set to hot up as the season reaches its climax in the coming weeks and months.
And former Liverpool FC captain Gerrard has stressed the importance of Liverpool FC keeping up their solid performances as they look to try and finish in the top four for the second season running.
Speaking to BT Sport after Saturday’s win over Watford, Gerrard said: “It’s important to bounce back especially after the Man United [defeat].
“But the important thing was to go seven points ahead of Chelsea because they’re desperate to get that top four place.”
Liverpool FC now switch their focus towards their Premier League trip to Crystal Palace after the international break on 31 March.
The Reds will also take on Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next month.
