Owen Hargreaves believes that Andy Robertson’s fine form for Liverpool FC this season means that the Reds do not need to sign a new left-back this summer.
The Scot has been settling into life at Anfield well since his move to the club from Hull City back in the summer transfer window last year.
Robertson was eased into the first team by Jurgen Klopp early on and he has now become a much more regular fixture in the starting line-up for the Reds.
The left-back was in particularly fine form on Saturday night as he provided the cross for Mohamed Salah’s second goal in the Reds’ 5-0 thrashing of Watford at Anfield in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has now made three assists in 18 Premier League games for the Merseyside outfit this season and he has also notched up three appearances in the cup competitions.
And former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves feels that Robertson has proved that the Red Devils do not need to sign a new left-back this summer.
Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday, Hargreaves said: “If you talk about recruitment for the summer, Liverpool don’t need a left-back.
“Andy Robertson is going to be the future left-back. He’s terrific and is only going to get better.”
Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they look to try and close the gap to second-placed Manchester United before the season is out.
