Jamie Carragher warns Man United about summer Liverpool FC signing
Jamie Carragher believes that Mohamed Salah could fire Liverpool FC to victory at Man United next weekend
Jamie Carragher believes that Mohamed Salah could be poise to produce a match-winning performance for Liverpool FC in their crunch clash with Manchester United next weekend.
The Egypt international has been one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents this season and he has been earning huge amounts of praise for his strong displays for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures, Salah had scored 23 goals and made eight assists in the top flight this season to help Jurgen Klopp’s men make their way up the Premier League table.
Former Liverpool FC star Carragher feels that Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne is the player most likely to be crowned as the PFA player of the year this time around.
However, Carragher now feels that Salah will be a close contender for the award – and claims that the attacker could swing things in his favour if he helps Liverpool FC beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League next weekend.
Writing in his column for the Telegraph, Carragher said: “If you had asked me a few months ago who deserved this year’s [PFA] accolade I would have said it must be De Bruyne, especially given the massive gap between the champions-elect and the rest.
“It will be no surprise if City’s domestic dominance ensures their best player is rewarded.
“But with respect to the Belgian, the more I assess Salah’s contribution, the more I feel he deserves to push De Bruyne far closer than I imagined.
“He has the potential to go ahead in the next few weeks, particularly if he produces a match-winning performance at Old Trafford next weekend.”
Liverpool FC now switch their attentions back towards Champions League affairs and the return leg of their clash with FC Porto at Anfield on Tuesday night.
