Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher says Mohamed Salah is not far behind Kevin De Bruyne as the Premier League's top player this term

Jamie Carragher has claimed that Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah is running Kevin De Bruyne close as the Premier League’s standout player this season.
The Egypt international has been in superb form for the Merseyside outfit so far this season after signing for the club from Italian side Roma in the summer transfer window.
Salah continued his spectacular performances by scoring a superb goal in Liverpool FC’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Arsenal at The Emirates on Friday night.
The 25-year-old has now scored 15 goals and made three assists in 19 Premier League games for Liverpool FC so far this season.
De Bruyne has also been earning plenty of praise for his stunning form for Manchester City so far this season.
However, former Liverpool FC star Carragher feels that Salah is not too far behind the Belgian in terms of his performances this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Friday night, Carragher said: “We’ve mentioned De Bruyne as the standout player in the league this season.
“Salah is very close. He is second in line in terms of player of the year.”
Salah will be expecting to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Boxing Day with a home clash against Swansea City.
The Reds are currently fourth in the Premier League table as they look to try and secure Champions League qualification for the second season running under Jurgen Klopp.
