Sky Sports reporter gives update on Liverpool FC interest in 25-year-old
Liverpool FC could be put off a move to sign Jan Oblak because of Atletico Madrid's asking price, says insider

Liverpool FC could be put off a move to sign Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid because of his asking price, according to Sky Sports reporter Vinny O’Connor.
The Reds are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
Liverpool FC have already completed their first signing of the summer by tying up a deal for Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco.
However, the Merseyside outfit are also believed to be keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper this summer following Loris Karius’ nightmare in the Champions League final.
The Reds have been linked with the likes of AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, while Oblak has also been touted as a target for Klopp’s side.
However, Sky Sports reporter O’Connor has now claimed that Liverpool FC’s hopes of signing Oblak could be affected by Atletico Madrid’s high asking price.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, O’Connor said: “Liverpool are continuously linked with Oblak [but] he is valued at around £80m plus.
“That price could affect Liverpool’s interest.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season as they also lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid.
The Reds have not yet won a major trophy under Klopp.
