Alisson Becker has revealed that he has always been a keen admirer of Jurgen Klopp following his move to Liverpool FC from AS Roma this week.
The Brazilian goalkeeper signed for the Reds from AS Roma on Thursday night following the relentless speculation linking him with a move to the Merseyside club this summer.
Alisson has been brought in to take the number one spot at Anfield after Loris Karius’ Champions League final nightmare cast doubt on the German’s long-term future at the club.
And the goalkeeper has revealed his delight at the prospect of linking up with his new boss Klopp at the Merseyside outfit ahead of next season.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, new signing Alisson said: “I have great expectations [about working with Klopp].
“I’ve followed him since Dortmund, I’ve always admired his style, even more now having played against him.
“He’s a very intelligent manager and he has a very clear strategy on the pitch. This team is very difficult to stop, with huge attacking power and defensive consistency.
“I’ll join this project straight away, I hope to adapt as soon as possible. I don’t anticipate any problems with the language or playing style.
“The difference in the Premier League is that it’s very competitive physically so I’ll try to improve in that aspect as well and adapt as soon as possible to the style of play.”
Alisson will be hoping to produce solid performances at the back for Liverpool FC next season as he bids to help the Reds challenge for the Premier League title.
The Merseyside outfit ended up in fourth place in the table last term as they ended up losing the Champions League final 3-1 to Real Madrid.
Liverpool FC are still searching for their first trophy since Klopp’s appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
