Jamie Carragher sets Liverpool challenge for Jurgen Klopp
Jamie Carragher wants to see Liverpool qualify for the Champions League season in, season out

Jamie Carragher has challenged Jurgen Klopp to make sure that Liverpool’s Champions League qualification last season was not a one-off.
The Reds secured their place in Europe’s elite club competition for next season thanks to their fourth-placed finish in the Premier League in Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.
The Merseyside outfit are looking to secure their place in the group stage of the Champions League be winning their qualifying tie in August.
Much has been made of Liverpool’s absence from the Champions League in recent seasons but the Reds are now set for a substantial financial windfall following their qualification.
And former Liverpool defender Carragher has stressed the importance of the Reds making Champions League qualification a regular occurrence.
Speaking to Liverpool’s website, Carragher said: “It’s a lot tougher to get in [to the Champions League] now, there’s a lot more competition, I must say, from when I was playing.
“It’s huge to get in but it can’t be a one-off like it was last time, we’ve got to try to make sure we’re in there year in, year out.”
Liverpool will be hoping to bring in a number of new players in the summer transfer window but the Reds have thus far only confirmed the signing of young striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea.
The Reds’ fourth-placed finish last season was a substantial improvement on the previous campaign, when they finished eighth and without a trophy.
