Daniel Sturridge sends message to Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp
Daniel Sturridge insists that he is working hard to earn a spot in the first team at Liverpool FC next season

Daniel Sturridge has insisted that he is working harder than ever to earn his spot in the first team at Liverpool FC for next season.
The England striker’s future at Anfield has been a source of speculation this summer and in recent months because of his lack of playing time under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool FC.
Sturridge was shipped out on loan to West Bromwich Albion for the second part of last season but the temporary spell away from Anfield ended up being a largely disappointing one.
The striker is now back with his Liverpool FC team-mates as he bids to try and earn his way into Klopp’s first-team plans for next season.
And the former Chelsea FC and Manchester United forward has insisted that he is simply focused on working hard and making sure that he’s in the best shape for the season ahead.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Sturridge said: “I just wanted to work hard through the summer.
“[You come] back, work hard in pre-season, and try and help your team be successful – and that’s what it’s all about.
“I ain’t getting too excited. I’ve got a positive mentality and I’m just focusing on improving because you can never stop improving.
“It’s a great group of lads [and] it’s important for us to keep moving forward.
“I feel good, I won’t deny it, but I understand it’s a long season too, there’s a lot of games, and I’m excited.
“I’m looking forward to the future [and] what I can do and help the team.”
Liverpool FC are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title next season as they look to try and win their first major trophy since Klopp’s appointment back in 2015.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table and reached the Champions League final last term.
