Jurgen Klopp expresses his delight at Jordan Henderson committing his future to Liverpool FC

Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight at seeing Jordan Henderson commit his long-term future to Liverpool FC by signing a new contract this week.
The midfielder has put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future, although the Reds have not disclosed the length of the new contract.
The 28-year-old Liverpool FC captain has only made one Premier League start for the Reds so far this season as the competition for places in the midfield has hotted up recently.
Nevertheless, the Merseyside outfit have decided to reward their captain with a new deal, and Klopp is clearly delighted to have seen the England midfielder commit his future to the club.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, Klopp said: “It is fantastic news but should not be a surprise to anyone – he is perfect for us and we for him, I think.
“Jordan embodies entirely what it means to be a Liverpool player in this modern era of football.
“You can tell through his actions on and off the pitch he treats representing our badge and our shirt as a privilege. He takes nothing for granted and strives to learn and be better for his team at all times.
“He carries a lot on his shoulders that people on the outside won’t see, but he embraces that responsibility and that leadership. He is our ‘General’ and I trust him completely.
“But the best thing is, I think – in fact, I know – he will get even better in these coming years. And this improvement will come from a very high base already.
Liverpool FC have made a brilliant start to the new Premier League season and they have won all four of their games to leave them leading the way at the top of the table.
The Merseyside outfit are currently top of the table and they will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
