Jurgen Klopp highlights Liverpool FC star’s importance
Jurgen Klopp talks up Jordan Henderson's importance to Liverpool FC after he signed a new contract

Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp insists that Jordan Henderson is a vital part of the squad after he put pen to paper on a new long-term deal on Monday.
Henderson started his first game of the season as Liverpool FC won 2-1 against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on the opening weekend.
During the first three matches of the new Premier League campaign summer arrival Naby Keita had been occupying the deep-lying position in midfield which Henderson usually fills and he impressed with his composure on the ball and technical ability.
However, as club captain, the England international still has an important part to play for Jurgen Klopp’s men going forward, which is why he has signed a contract extension which will see him remain at Anfield until 2021.
The German boss expressed his delight after the deal was announced at the start of the week, insisting that Henderson remains an integral part of his plans.
“Jordan is so important to us and we are very fortunate as a club to have this person commit to us as he has.” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.
“For Jordan and his wonderful young family I am really pleased they now know they are part of our Liverpool family for an even longer time.”
Henderson has been selected for international duty over the next week as England face off against Spain and Switzerland in respective friendlies, which is a great opportunity for him to continue his return to first-team action.
The 28-year-old played his part for Gareth Southgate’s men at the World Cup in Russia over the summer as the Three Lions managed to reach the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 1990.
