Jamie Redknapp admits he is concerned about Liverpool’s poor finishing in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Burnley.

Brazil international Philippe Coutinho was restored to the Liverpool starting line-up for the first time since his transfer saga in the summer transfer window.

The Reds were without Senegal international Sadio Mane at Anfield for the Premier League clash as the winger served the first of a three-game suspension.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored his fourth goal in the Premier League since a £39m move to the 18-time English champions from Serie A club AS Roma.

The Merseyside outfit had 35 shots on goal but Liverpool only managed to beat Burnley’s England goalkeeper Tom Heaton on one occasion in a frustrating afternoon for the home side.

Liverpool are in eighth place in the Premier League table and five points behind pacesetters Manchester City and Manchester United.

Former Reds midfielder Redknapp is worried about Liverpool’s wastefulness in front of goal.

“Liverpool may have issues at the back but what really concerned me was their inability to kill off Burnley,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

“All their dominance and creativity produced 35 shots but just one goal. Liverpool are one of the most exciting teams to watch. Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Mo Salah are lovely footballers whose intricate play can be scintillating.

“They share the goals around the team. You are not going to get a golden boot contender from this side. But against teams like Burnley who defend resolutely, Liverpool need a ruthless goalscorer to put the game to bed. Think of Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen.”

Liverpool have failed to win their last three games in all competitions following a 5-0 loss at Manchester City in the Premier League and a 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Champions League.

The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term.
