Danny Murphy sends message to Liverpool FC fans about 24-year-old signing
The Liverpool legend says Mohamed Salah has hit the ground running
Danny Murphy has heaped praise on new Liverpool signing Mohamed Salah for his sensational start to life at Anfield.
The Egypt international moved to Liverpool in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma back in July to provide Jurgen Klopp with more attacking options.
Salah has wasted no time having a positive impact on the Liverpool team after the African winger scored in the second leg of their 6-3 aggregate win against Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim in the Champions League playoff.
The 24-year-old scored on his Premier League debut with the third goal in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road before Salah scored a superb solo goal in their 4-0 win against Arsenal.
Questions were raised about Salah following his disappointing spell at Chelsea before moving to Serie A to play with first Fiorentina and then AS Roma.
Former Liverpool midfielder Murphy hailed Salah’s impressive start to life as a Reds player following his standout performance against Arsenal.
“He’s got goals and assists. He’s hit the ground running,” Murphy told BBC Sport.
Liverpool signed Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke and Hull City defender Andy Robertson in the summer transfer window.
The Reds agreed a deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita in a club-record £48m deal next summer.
