Liverpool FC ready to offload 24-year-old this month – report
Liverpool FC are willing to offload Lazar Markovic in the January transfer window, say reports
Liverpool FC are ready to offload Lazar Markovic in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Liverpool Echo is claiming that the Reds are open to offers for the 24-year-old, who has struggled to make an impact since his move to Anfield from Benfica.
However, the same story also claims that in truth, Liverpool FC have been ready to listen to offers for the 24-year-old for the last three and a half years.
The same article claims that there were rumours about potential interest from the Chinese Super League, but nothing concrete has so far materialised.
The Liverpool Echo report also says that any fee for Markovic is likely to be “nominal”, as his current contract at Anfield is set to expire in the summer.
With that in mind, it also suggests that Markovic may instead choose to sit tight and see out his contract to become a free agent in the summer.
Markovic has not featured for Liverpool FC’s first team since his run out against QPR back in May 2015.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC will take on Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday afternoon as they look to keep their place at the top of the Premier League table.
