Kenny Dalglish tips 25-year-old to score first goal in Liverpool v Man United
Kenny Dalglish is tipping Philippe Coutinho to open the scoring for Liverpool FC against Manchester United
Kenny Dalglish is expecting to see Philippe Coutinho open the scoring for Liverpool in Saturday’s crunch clash with Manchester United.
The Brazilian playmaker was heavily linked with a transfer away from the Merseyside club during the summer window but the 25-year-old ended up staying at Anfield as Liverpool refused to sell him to Barcelona.
Coutinho has already proved his worth to Liverpool since being reintegrated into the first team at Anfield, and he scored in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United before the international break.
And Liverpool legend Dalglish is expecting to see the Brazilian starlet open the scoring for the Reds against the Red Devils on Saturday lunchtime.
Speaking in an interview with BetStars, Dalglish said: “More often than not, it’s the home team who scores first and I’ll be very disappointed if it’s not like that this time.
“For me, it could be Coutinho who scores first. He can score from open play or from a set play with his free-kicks.”
Liverpool head into Saturday’s showdown looking to get back to winning ways after their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United before the international break.
The Merseyside outfit have currently find themselves in seventh place in the Premier League table, after having won just three of their opening seven games.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are in superb form, after having won six of their opening seven games to leave them second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City as they bid to win the title this season.
