Gary Neville explains why he’s been so impressed by Liverpool FC starlet
Gary Neville heaps praise on Joe Gomez following his performance for Liverpool FC against Man United

Gary Neville has admitted that he was very impressed by Joe Gomez’s performance for Liverpool against Manchester United on Saturday.
The 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they were forced to settle for a point against Jose Mourinho’s visitors at Anfield in Saturday’s goalless draw.
Gomez has been in good form for Liverpool so far this season and has featured in six of the Reds’ eight Premier League games so far this term.
Former Manchester United defender Neville picked Gomez as the man of the match for the Reds for the defender’s display against the Red Devils and he explained his decision after the game.
Speaking to Sky Sports, former England man Neville said: “Nowadays we talk about whether he is an attacking right-back or a defensive right-back. Actually he looks like he can do both.
“To me, it was a really good performance. He has handled a very difficult game.”
Liverpool return to Champions League action on Tuesday night with a trip to Maribor as they look to try and pick up their first group stage win of the season in Europe’s elite club competition.
The Merseyside outfit are currently nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League after a stuttering start to the new campaign for Klopp’s side.
The Reds then return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to Wembley to take on Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
