Gary Neville: Liverpool FC surprised me, I wasn’t expecting that
Gary Neville admits he was surprised by the manner of Liverpool FC's loss to Tottenham on Sunday

Gary Neville admits that he was completely surprised by Liverpool’s capitulation against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Reds struggled to gain a foothold in the game as they suffered a demoralising 4-1 loss to the north London side to further dent their Premier League title hopes.
Liverpool struggled to get into the game at Wembley as they suffered a disappointing defeat to leave them ninth in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after nine games of the new campaign.
Former Manchester United defender Neville said that he was expecting to see Liverpool produce a solid performance against the Lilywhites and that he was surprised by their poor display.
Speaking on Sky Sports on Sunday, Neville said: “I’m surprised [by Sunday’s game].
“I expected a good Liverpool performance, it’s a big moment in the season and I thought this game would suit them with Tottenham playing the way they do.
“But the mistakes have been absolutely devastating for them. Unnecessary and unforced.”
Liverpool will now have to dust themselves down as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League next weekend when they host Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds already look as though they are going to face a serious fight if they are to claw their way back into the title race this season.
The Merseyside outfit finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure Champions League qualification.
