Craig Bellamy makes honest admission about Sadio Mane at Liverpool FC
Craig Bellamy talks up the importance of Sadio Mane for Liverpool FC
Craig Bellamy has warned Liverpool that Sadio Mane will be a big miss for the Reds when they take on Manchester United in their crunch Premier League showdown at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.
The Senegal international has been ruled out of action for the next six weeks after he suffered a hamstring injury while away with his national team.
It has not yet been officially confirmed when Mane will return to action but he will certainly be a big miss for the Reds when they host their bitter local rivals on Merseyside this weekend.
Mane has developed into one of Liverpool’s key players since his arrival at Anfield from Southampton last summer and he has earned plenty of praise for his attacking performances.
And former Wales striker Bellamy believes that Mane is one of Liverpool’s most important players because he helps them to produce free-flowing attacking performances.
Bellamy told The Debate on Sky Sports on Wednesday night: “In those areas of high intensity, Mane is a big difference.
“When Liverpool don’t hit those big numbers, it’s when he’s not playing.”
Liverpool head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after the disappointment of their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United before the international break.
The Reds are currently seven points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table after seven games of the new campaign.
