Paul Scholes uses Liverpool FC to make point about Man United
Paul Scholes believes that Man United's 2-1 win over Liverpool FC in the Premier League last weekend was a big day for the Red Devils

Paul Scholes believes Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool FC in the Premier League last weekend provided the best atmosphere for a long time at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s men notched up the win over the Merseyside outfit thanks to two quick-fire goals from Marcus Rashford in the first half at Old Trafford.
The win left Manchester United in second place in the Premier League table and ahead of Liverpool FC, who are now five points behind their local rivals.
Manchester United, however, failed to follow up that victory after they lost 2-1 to Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night in the last 16 at Old Trafford.
But Manchester United legend Scholes still feels that their win over Liverpool FC marked a significant milestone in their development under Mourinho.
Speaking to BT Sport on Tuesday night, Scholes said: “Saturday’s win against a really top-class team Liverpool was a great win.
“It felt like for the first time in a while there was a really big atmosphere at Old Trafford.
“They were playing against a top team in Liverpool and they managed to come through it and win. It’s was a big performance.”
Manchester United now switch their attentions straight back to FA Cup affairs and their quarter-final clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils, who won the Europa League and League Cup last term, will be aiming to win the FA Cup this season as it is their last realistic remaining hope of a trophy in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
