Mark Lawrenson reckons Liverpool FC should try and sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal this month
Mark Lawrenson believes that Liverpool FC should make a move to try and sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal after Philippe Coutinho’s Anfield exit.
The Reds confirmed on Saturday night that they had reached an agreement with Barcelona to sell Coutinho to the Spanish club after months of speculation about his future.
Liverpool FC are believed to have received a transfer fee of as much as £145m for Coutinho and the Reds will now be surely looking to spend some of that cash on finding a replacement for the Brazilian this month.
Sanchez’s future at Arsenal has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks after he entered into the final few months of his contract at The Emirates.
And former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson feels that Sanchez would be a great signing for the Merseyside outfit if they can convince Arsenal to sell this month.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Lawrenson said: “There is a fella at Arsenal who wants out called Alexis Sanchez, that would be very interesting if Liverpool decide to go for someone like that.
“If you can get Sanchez, and you have already got Virgil van Dijk, then that is good business, probably good business for everyone.”
